To perform your job role correctly, you should be able to work at the functional level of literacy, numeracy and communication skills.

You can check you own levels of literacy, numeracy and communication in a number of ways:

• By speaking to your college tutor
• By completing an online test
• By looking at the functional skills assessment criteria and comparing them with your own knowledge
