In the course of your work, there may be times when you need to access information, advice and support about diversity, equality and inclusion. This might be a result of a variety of things. For example, you may need support upon reflecting on your work and realising you need to develop your skills and knowledge to improve the quality of your care.

You may need to know how to apply equality, diversity and inclusion to an unfamiliar situation where you are unsure what the best course of action would be. Or you may need advice on how to deal with an instance of discrimination or unfair treatment.

Whenever you’re unsure about how to handle a situation related to diversity, equality and inclusion, you should seek support from one of the sources that were gone over in the previous section. If you are unsure about how to access this information and advice, you can talk to your manager or your colleagues and have them point you in the right direction.
