If someone feels uncomfortable, they will usually move around until they find a position that is more comfortable for them. Some individuals may not be able to do this due to limited movement or mobility. As such, there may be times where you have to help the individual move position so that they feel comfortable.
When doing this, you should move the individual with the aid of another worker if necessary and make sure that you are always in line with the individual’s care plan. You should never move them without their consent, so be sure to ask them for their consent before you do anything.
If you are unsure about what to do to make the individual feel more comfortable, you should check with your manager or supervisor. Never move an individual until you are sure that they are alright with it and that you are capable of doing it.
