There may be times when you are unsure about whether to break confidentiality or not. You may not know what to do or whether to speak to anyone about the information you have. There are people you can go to when you are struggling with confidentiality however.
First of all, your manager is an important person to speak to in situations like these. They might be able to advise you on what to do and give you helpful insights into the right course of action. If your manager is not available you could also speak to a senior member of staff or another worker.
Whatever the case, you should follow the agreed ways of working in your workplace. They may go over confidentiality and how to handle difficult situations and be a good point of reference. Standard 14 will touch on this further.
