  • Your manager
  • Co-workers
  • Legislation, agreed ways of working (policies and procedures) and standards
  • Training
  • The Information Commissioners Office (ICO)

In most cases, you would speak to your manager or colleagues to help clarify the things that you do not understand. You may also refer to your organisation’s agreed ways of working. Any training that you undertake may also help with your understanding. If you require further clarification, this may mean having to do your own research via the web – ensure any sources that you look at are reputable as there can be a lot of disinformation published on the web. The ICO or other government bodies are reliable sources of information.
