As a care worker, you can increase the likelihood of positive outcomes for the individuals that you care for by focussing on their overall wellbeing. Therefore, it is important to understand attitudes and approaches that can help to promote wellbeing.

You should try to have a positive can-do attitude in all aspects of your work. You should also show respect to the individuals that you support and make them feel valued. You can do this by ensuring you are courteous and listen to their views and opinions as well as by supporting them to express themselves and speak up when required.

Person-centred values should be at the forefront of your practice and you should always ensure that you have the individual’s best interests at heart.
