Assessment criteria: 3.2 Demonstrate ways of working that can help improve partnership working

Partnership working can be improved in several ways.

Primarily, everybody should be working towards the best interests of the service user. There may be constraints in resources, such as staff, finances and equipment but it is up to all the stakeholders to ensure that they devise the best possible outcomes for the individual with the resources that they have available.

It is essential that everyone has the opportunity to express their views, including the service user themselves, and that everybody’s viewpoint is listened to and taken seriously. This does not mean that their cannot be disagreements but all parties should respect one another’s point of view.

Continuing with communication, it is important that all parties are kept aware of what is happening with the service user so that they are able to make their best judgements with knowledge of all the facts.

All parties must also be honest and transparent to ensure the best possible outcomes for the individual receiving care.
