Primarily, everybody should be working towards the best interests of the service user. There may be constraints in resources, such as staff, finances and equipment but it is up to all the stakeholders to ensure that they devise the best possible outcomes for the individual with the resources that they have available.

It is essential that everyone has the opportunity to express their views, including the service user themselves, and that everybody’s viewpoint is listened to and taken seriously. This does not mean that their cannot be disagreements but all parties should respect one another’s point of view.
