Assessment criteria: 2.2 Demonstrate practices that ensure security when storing and accessing information

You must be able to demonstrate to your assessor that your when you store or access information, you do so in a secure manner.

You may do this by:

  • ensuring unauthorised persons are not able to able to read what you write or see your computer screen when updating records
  • not staying logged into your computer
  • locking doors/cabinets after you have accessed the information you required
  • not reading personal information out loud when there is a risk of being overheard
  • ensuring confidential are not left in public areas
  • ensuring staff are trained in the importance of confidentiality and best practices
