As a senior member of staff or team leader, you will have responsibilities to ensure less experienced team members understand the need for secure handling of information.
This means that you may need to respond to any questions or queries they have, so it is important that your own knowledge is up-to-date. This could be related to handling information within your organisation (agreed ways of working) or in the wider context, such as the legal requirements. You should be approachable and team members should feel comfortable in coming to you for guidance.
You may be responsible for training new staff in secure data handling. You may also have to address any mistakes that are made by team members to ensure that they do not happen again.
You should also model good practice in your own work so that your co-workers are able to observe best practices and you lead by example.
