Many factors contribute to the well-being of individuals and, as a care worker, it is important to be aware of them so that you can take a holistic approach to provide the best quality of life for your service users.
These factors include:
- Physical health – regular exercise, good nutrition, getting enough sleep
- Mental health –
- Social interaction – having a network of close factors, intimate relationships, sense of belonging
- Economic factors – having enough money
- Having a sense of purpose – e.g. career, community work
- Having a positive outlook on life
- Spiritual health – e.g. religion or belief
