As a lead carer, you will have a responsibility to promote understanding of active participation to others. This could include the individual’s family, co-workers, the wider public and even the individual themselves.
Methods of promoting active participation include:
- Taking time to explain the importance of active participation to others
- Ensuring that new starters are trained in the use of active participation
- Role modelling active participation in your daily work
- Sharing your own experiences of how active participation has made a difference to the lives of others
