Use theoretical perspectives on play which support the developmental stage, needs and interests of children aged: 0-1 year 11 months, 2-2 years 11 months, 3-5 years

Qualification: NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
Unit: Unit 3.3: Apply theoretical perspectives and philosophical approaches to play
Learning outcome: Be able to apply theoretical knowledge in own practice
Assessment criteria: Use theoretical perspectives on play which support the developmental stage, needs and interests of children aged: 0-1 year 11 months, 2-2 years 11 months, 3-5 years

For this assessment criterion, you will be required to put the ideas you have learned about theoretical perspectives on play into practice by implementing the plans that you developed in the previous section.

During the execution of your plans, you should observe if the child or children are interested in the activity and that all children are able to participate.

Sometimes things will not go to plan, so you will need to be flexible if the children decide to take an activity in an unexpected direction.

It is important to be able to reflect upon and critically analyse the impact of an activity after it has finished, and so your observations and actions during the activity will support this.
