In the previous section, we looked at how to plan enabling play environments both indoors and outdoors.

For this assessment criteria, you will be required to put your plans into practice by creating the enabling environments or improving upon what is already available.

For example, you might observe that there is a lot of competition to play with a ride-on toy in the outdoor environment (which sometimes leads to conflicts among the children) and so recommend to your manager that more of these toys are provided so that there are enough for everyone.

Or, you might (with your manager’s permission and following a risk assessment) remove the legs from a cabinet so that it is lower to the ground and easier for the children to access.
