Qualification: NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
Unit: Unit 3.5: Develop emergent literacy skills of children
Learning outcome: Be able to review how planned activities support emergent literacy
Assessment criteria: Analyse own role in relation to planned activities
An Early Years practitioner should reflect on their own role in relation to a planned activity by identifying what worked well and what might need to be changed next time.
They should analyze what strategies worked well and what adjustments could be made for future activities. Practitioners must also consider any areas where more guidance or resources might be needed and make sure that everyone is kept informed about the activity plans. Additionally, practitioners should reflect on whether the planned activity provided an appropriate balance between challenge and support, as well as how to adjust it in future if needed.
Further information on reflective practice can be found here.
