This unit is part of the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator and has the following learning outcomes and assessment criteria:
- Understand ‘school readiness’ in relation to the role of the Early Years practitioner
- Understand ‘school readiness’ in relation to the current framework
- Understand how working in partnership with others contributes to children’s school readiness
- Identify others involved in helping children prepare for school
- Describe the information required to enable the school to meet the individual needs of the child during transition
- Explain the role of the Early Years practitioner in encouraging parents/carers to take an active role in their child’s play, learning and development in preparation for school readiness
