This unit is part of the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator and has the following learning outcomes and assessment criteria:

1. Understand professional development

   2. Describe methods for identifying professional development opportunities
2. Understand theoretical perspectives in relation to reflection
   1. Summarise theoretical perspectives on reflection in relation to professional development
3. Be able to use reflective practice to contribute to own professional development
   1. Develop a Curriculum Vitae
   2. Analyse own professional development needs in relation to the role of the Early Years practitioner
   3. Review own learning needs, professional interests and development opportunities
   4. Maintain subject knowledge across curriculum subjects which are of personal interest
   5. Work with others to agree own personal development plan
   6. Use learning opportunities to support own professional development
   7. Explain how reflective practice leads to improved ways of working
   8. Record progress in relation to personal development
