2.1d Contribute to drawing up own personal development plan

We have already discussed the process for agreeing a Personal Development Plan (PDP), however it is important that you actively participate in drawing it up rather than just passively agreeing with what your manager says.

A PDP should be personal to you and that can only be achieved if you contribute it. It should be a collaboration between yourself and your manager whereby you can highlight what you would like from your learning and development and your manager can explain what your employer would like from you.

In a lot of cases, your own point of view will be very close to that of your manager however where there are differences, there will be the opportunity to discuss and compromise before making an agreement.
