5.6b Demonstrate that their own attitudes and behaviours promote emotional and spiritual wellbeing

Your own attitudes and behaviours can affect your emotional and spiritual well-being in a variety of ways. For example, if you cut yourself off from your family you would quickly feel lonely and unloved. On the other hand, if you were leading an active life and interacted with your friends and family often, you would feel valued and self-confident. This would then mean you have a good sense of identity and high self-esteem, and by extension, well-being.

It is important to look at your own attitudes and behaviours and how they promote your emotional and spiritual well-being, as it can help you to promote it in the individuals you care for as well. In the next section we will go over how you can support and encourage the identity and self-esteem of the individuals you care for.
